I suspect the 10" Legacy speakers will sound good enough and, if they crap out, they'll be easy to replace.

They should last long enough for me to save up for new subs

I have never heard of Legacy and I can't find much information on them

Re: Show Your System
Paying free.99 for subs beats any worries about their quality in my book.
Should be a good budget set-up Brandon

Ok so the kit didn't include enough speaker wire to run from the amp to each sub. Will 18 gauge work or do I need to get 12?

I would use the 12 gauge. 18 is to thin for subs.

Lol, go to Walmart and get the thickest stuff they have. I used some thick stuff I got from a truck at work. I cut the speaker wire to mine to short by accident

I'm going tomorrow to get some. I also had a little accident with the amp. The positive terminal broke off and I have it soldered back together at this moment. Kinda worried about running it.

Re: Show Your System
FYI just so its indexed by google:
You can put even large passive crossovers inside the cab of a Ranger (I have JBL P660C components which have a huge crossover). I see most people put them in the doors, but that has disadvantages:
- Cannot access the crossovers to mess with tweeter db cuts unless you pull the door panels, an access cover or the speaker
- Moisture and rain can lead to eventual corrosion/water damage of the crossover
- You have to be careful mounting them or they can vibrate against the door
- If you ever want to go active, you'll have to pull the door panels again to fish in new wires, pull the crossovers, etc. Mounting the crossovers in the cab and running the speaker wire while installing the speaker means you wont have to take them apart again.
I went to home depot and got some really robust velcro, then installed the left crossover on the relay box next to the gas pedal and the right crossover under the passenger kick panel. Havent had any issues and all Ill need to do is run a little speaker wire up to where the crossovers were when I decide to go active.
Just thought Id toss it out there in case anyone installs components and wants ideas for where to put the crossovers..

Re: Show Your System
Good to know Jay, thanks for sharing that info.
Looks good Brandon, no clearance issues under the seat with the amp + LOC?

Everything clears. Theres at least 6 inches from the crossbar under the seat to the LOC so the seat can move back.
