Got new headunit installed. Gotta pull it back out to do the steering wheel controls and to do the bypass. Gonna retune the amp tomorrow and then mount the amp behind the seat finally!

I don't think I'm gonna be happy without hooking the speakers to a 4 channel amp.. My Mazda is all done with 4 channel and sub and it screams. So think I'm gonna end up getting one of those mini in line amps like the pioneer or the clarion. Looking at 6x8 jbl gto components for front and 6x8 infinity reference for rear.

Even those little ones make a difference, the alpine power pack worked great for me on Type S and Type R 5ish6 x 7ish8's.

I was able to play it at my comfort level with clearer sound is the way i saw it.

Yeah. I'll have to add it in later down the road. Got the amp mounted on the back wall today. No wires at all! Love it. Don't have to worry about the amp sliding around anymore. A little worried about heat. But I think it should be okay.

Got a competition 8" Memphis DVC pushing out 1000 watts. Sealed box out of birch coated with plastidip! Hooked up to a Kenwood Bluetooth head unit.

It peaks at 800... I'm pushing 1000 through it right now... Maybe more towards 700-800.. Amp is set at ~70% gain.

Peak isn't what matters. Rms. I'm running 1000 rms though my 2 10 skars.

You're right. I wish I had room for some 10's. I'm happy with the 8 though. It has impressed me.

I have a single 8 inch type R alpine in my ranger and I love it. It's only getting 200 watts. My 10s are getting 1000 watts in my f150. My dash flexes and my windshield wipers rattle.
