Kenwood has really stepped up in recent years, they have car play too. Alpine is still good, but you don't get shit for you're money. Pioneer is kind of a joke. I've seen lots of problems, double DINs going bad, needing reset or replaced. Not to mention their Bluetooth sounds like shit compared to Kenwood

Type R are there top end models. Type S is the affordable models. Still both are good. Type R handle more power.

I'll have to look into them. I want a double din but it's not really necessary.

This one doesn't look to bad http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX3...on-DDX393.html
I like the fact that it's got a volume knob instead of the buttons. The first thing that gets done will be a system. Can't stand stock audio in the cheap base model form (trucks a Laramie).

Re: Show Your System
Next week or so im going to change out my pioneer ts-d speakers for jbl p660c components. I hear theyre pretty awesome.
My current ts-d coaxials are awesome with electronic music, but fall short on metal. Not an audio head so i dont know how to explain it, but they dont seem to really bring out the distorted guitar for crap- clean guitar is great. I think its because the tweeters are a little large/loud/wrong crossover, and even with eq'ing the upper freqs the highs start fatiguing my ears before the mids get pumping.
Im hoping the tweeter 6db cut on the p660c crossovers plus the prodigal midbass these are supposed to have will fix my issue. If not, ill have to get a tweeter amp and run the system 3 way active using my deh80prs in network mode.
This sound right to everyone or am i missing something?

So things may be changing with plans. Probably be signing papers Monday on a 2008 f150 lariat. Fully loaded. White and tan. Tan leather, sunroof, power rear slider, power everything, heated seats, factory 20s really clean truck 100k miles. It's got some cheap ass double din in it now and they didn't hook in the factory steering wheel controls. Planning on removing the radio. Adding the kenwood excelon deck, and then not sure what 6x8 to use. Planning on running head unit power! Don't wanna wire in a 4 channel. Also will have 1 or 2 10s or 12s under the back seat. Haven't decided what yet.

At 100k you shouldn't have an issue. Get it to operating temp and a good 3/8 impact and they'll come right out.

My old lady really wants me to get a 4 door F-150, but I refuse to buy one without a Coyote. Maybe a year or so. We'll see

Yeah I really want a coyote. But for price I can get one later on. My buddy has a 2011 single cab long bed f150 4x4 with the coyote and that truck rides. Runs good. He's also getting 17mpg according to the gauge cluster.

Yeah will probably end up doing it relatively soon. Have to do it at work on a slow day.

First order of business when it gets home is the stupid "fx2" stickers will be gone. There cheesy.

Also looking at the recon led emblems. All within time. will do an oil change and change all the fluids, flush brake system and go over the entire thing.
----------
It will do everything I need without the price of a coyote. It's got everything I want (except 4x4). But I can live without that. Only use it when going to my property to get to my camp.

Yeah, I won't buy a New vehicle ever again except maybe for the old lady when she finishes Nursing school.
I'm not so much scared of hitting 200k on a twin turbo, as much of who owned said twin turbo before.

Yeah little different. (Fog lights) lol nice clean truck. It's got a few things that need to be made right. Like the door panels.. The wood trim isn't there. There is the black pieces not the wood grain like it's supposed to have.
