No. Depends on the impedance of the voice coils and how the sub or subs are wired to the amp. A DVC 2 ohm sub can be wired as a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load to an amp. A DVC 4 ohm sub can be wired as a 2 ohm or 8 ohm load to an amp. aluminator needs a SVC 4 ohm sub if he uses the bridged output from the rear channels of a 4 channel amp. 99% of 4 channel amps are not 2 ohm stable bridged.

With 50 amps of fuse rating, your Boss amp does no more than 350 watts RMS to a 2 ohm load. Just sayin. Not sure what a DC12 is.

OK following that advice, this is the final choice.It has a single 4 ohm voice coil.

It's a 10" JL Audio W1v2 in a sealed box.
The amp I chose is a Pioneer class D(full range)75Wx4(4 ohm).The biggest factor for this choice is the deminsions.I have very limited space.http://http://www.sonicelectronix.co...GM-D9500F.htmlThe RMS rating for the door speakers(db57)is 60W each.The RMS rating for the amp is 75x4 RMS @ 4ohms.Will this be too much power for the db's?If so I'm gonna put the db's in the rear dash of my Mustang and buy some component 5x7s for the truck because it's alot easier to find door speakers that fit than it is to find an amp/sub combo that will fit.
I have looked at stereo equipment so long(trying to find what fits) it's not fun anymore.lol,so these are my final choices.I'm waiting on a check in the mail from my sister for a truck I sold her.When it gets here,I'm ordering.

I have two 10" Rockford Fosgate r2's in a ported box. Rockford Fosgate punch 500 powering them and a punch 360 powering all 4 of my door speakers. Best set up I've had for awhile. I love it!!

OK, that amp only outputs 200 watts RMS bridged output and the JL sub specs say it handles 300 watts RMS. You really should get a 100 x 4 amp. The JL is going to be underpowered with that amp. It can probably handle 400 watts or so in a sealed box of the proper size. Be sure and get the proper box size for whatever sub you get. do not worry if 100 watts RMS is too much for your 6x8's, you can use a DMM to measure the AC voltage output while setting the gain to your 6x8's with a 1000 hz test tone CD. The one I'm ordering is a loaded enclosure that has the .65 cf of airspace.However that only leaves me 9 1/8 inches for the width of the amplifier,which is why I can't use the SO amp.I will now look for a 100x4 amp that is slimmer than 9 1/8 inches.....just when I thought I had I figured out.lol.

I'd look at getting two amps; one for the sub and one for the speakers. thats the best way to get your amp to match up to both.

I'm running my regular cab system on one 4 channel amp. I bridged the door speakers to 2 channels and use the other 2 for the sub bridged. Systems sounds really good. It was easier than trying to find a place for 2 amps let alone one. I used to run 2 amps in my old car, but I think just the one bridged still sounds just as good for what I do.

Do you know what 'bridging' is when referring to the output of an amp ? You did not bridge any speakers to anything. Your front speakers are connected to the front speaker outputs of the amp and your sub is connected to the bridged rear output of the amp.

Please tell me you are not planning to mount the amp on the sub box ! Vibration is just one of the killers of electronics. Moisture, heat, dust are the others. You should be able to mount an amp under each seat.

Yes,it already has the sub mounted in the box.
I plan on mounting the amp on the rear cab wall beside the sub.There isn't any room under the seats of a regular cab for an amp.
I have looked everywhere and the only amplifiers that will fit and have enough power is an MB Quart ONX4.124 or a Clarion XH 5410.
I'm leaning towards the Clarion XH 5410.It's a little more than I wanted to spend but,I'm low on options.

I'll double check to see if there is room for amps under the seats.

Most amps will not cool themselves properly when mounted vertically. It's a function of how the heatsinks are oriented. No reason the amps can't be mounted on the floor.
