Re: Show Your System
Well here is a vid and pic of my system. I built my box. It hold 4 10" subs.
Subs are kicker comp cvr. DVC 2ohm. 1800 watt kenwood mono amp.
2 power distribution box's and a wired in power converter.
Pioneer deck with kenwood EQ. Pioneer 6x9s front and back.
The video is ok, but the subs hit so low the camera doesn't really pick it up. sorry.

Re: Show Your System
so ive heard about these things called by pass switches to put on the ebrake wire. anyone done this yet? ive got a jensen VM9224 in the mail. should be putting it in come thanksgiving break.. ive got some serious road tripping comming up and i would like to be able to entertain the passanger (GF) while in transit. best part is shes not allowed to drive my truck (insurance says so... shes had to many accidents, so its prolly for the best)
this is the head unit im getting:

any ideas how to install the bypass switch?

Re: Show Your System
bypass switches are a waste of money.. all the deck wants to see is ground on that wire.. try grounding it out.. if that doesn't work just use a toggle switch for .30 cents.

Re: Show Your System
Actually many of the new units don't work simply by grounding them. depends on model, i don't know about the jensen. but pioneer requires a sequence, setting p-brake, releasing it, and setting it again. so i simple ground won't work in that situation, you have to put in a switch and flip it on/off to use video. may even be some hardware bypass to permanently rig it up like in my pioneer f90bt now.

Re: Show Your System
Yeah i know that.. hence the toggle switch suggestion.. flip it on and off like your setting the e-brake. Most of the ones i've installed i use the autostarts.. autostart your car, radio comes on, safety wired tagged to doorpin, so its grounded, open door, close door, you have video.. but i also do a ton of toggle switches too, i've found the astro start(pos, don't get me started), there on/off switch works wonderfully
