I doubt that generic box is tuned properly for it. Offer $75 and make a properly ported box or solid sealed, depending on your music tastes.

Re: Show Your System
thats a prefab box from crutchfield..
the subwoofer really would need a different box to get the most out of it

to be honest though the box isn't as big a deal for me. Yes it's an important part of a system but the box I have my 10 in isn't even set up for the sub.

I'll probably take a look at the sub and listen to it then decide.

The box makes all the difference in how the sub sounds. If the seller doesn't have rated power to the sub, 400 watts rms, or doesn't have a properly set lowpass filter, you can listen to it all day and not know.

Re: Show Your System
Over the last few days I went through this thread looking for sub box ideas. There's a lot of info in one place.
I picked up an 03 extra cab 4 door to use as a work truck. It'll just be me or one other person, so the jump seats are coming out. I need to have room for tools in the back so the box can't be to big. I'm working on designing a 1-1.5 cu ft sealed box for two sundown sd-2 10's(left over from another project). If anyone has plans already written up for something similar that would be awesome.
I'm also trying to decide where to place the tweeters in the doors. I'm leaning towards putting them in the adapter plate with the woofer behind the door panel.
My stereo gear will be
Pioneer DEH-X8600BH deck
Focal PS 165 components front doors
Rear door speakers undecided
Alpine KTP-445U amp for front and rear speakers
Massive Audio N2 800 RMS @1 ohm sub amp
2 Sundown SD-2 10's sealed downfire
4ga amp kit from Knukonceptz
Total spent for everything listed $800. Gotta love eBay.

Re: Show Your System
Hondakiller , as for your front speakers , I run 6.5 components in my doors , I made an adapater plate so I could mount both the tweeter and woofer in the stock location , I put the tweeter on top . The sound stage is at the height of the dash ,with a good center image . on some songs it even sounds as if there are instruments out on thed hood .

I think that'll be the easiest and cleanest way to install. It also stands out less. "Passive anti theft"

Sooo my old man says if you hook up both + wires to the + terminal and both - wires to the - terminal. The subs will hit harder. But I don't think my subs can handle 900 watts...I don't wana blow them
