You are saying you blew the Polk 6x8's with that head ? Maybe from sending it a overdriven distorted signal, but not from overpowering. Polk's need alot more power than that head can do.

Would you guys recommend putting in 1 larger sub like a 15" or 2 12" subs?

Should be able to without a problem if its an ext. Cab, reg. Cab is still doable but not as easy.
And make a signature so everyone knows what you got. Makes it way easier for us to help when we know what were working with.

orion 600d class d amp. 1200 watts max 600 rms at 1 ohm
rackford fosgate 1 farad capacitor
2 jl 10w3V2 wired in parrallel at 1 ohm
custom single chamber box designed and built by me and cut on cnc router speakers are 2" off of floor pointing down carpet on speaker box has grey stipre down the middle to match my seats
kenwwod 75 watt rms amp for the front speakers
boston acoustic 6 1/2" component speakers in front with the tweeters mounted just above the dash on the door panel.
pioneer 6x8 in the back. the fade is set so i can barley here the back
speakers are time delayed and faded to the front for staging
won 2004 local mecca sql competition and best of show

Oh yea. Has been in since last January. I will have to take some pics and/or look to see if I alreeady have some of it in. 2- 12" Sony Xplods, 1000 watt Sony Xplod Amp built in, and capacitor built in as well.

As far as I know, yes you have to take the jump seats out. Unless you humid some sort of a custom box so you don't, the box for my 2 12's takes up pretty much the entire part of the ext. Cab part. I have a little room on the sides to store my jack and stuff but that's about it

My 12 box fits perfectly on the passenger side, i can even get into my jack stowage area.

I got two 12s in my backseat and I still have my jump seats. I can't and don't use em thou never have. Lol might take mine out and make a new box and setup for my subs
