From the initial power to the remote power. And it turned on. Is this fine to do? The guy I talked to was the owner. I felt pretty confident with him saying to do so but I'd like to be reassured. I'll get an rca cable to actually run to the amp from the deck. But this setup is for the time being
So, you jumped the power on the amp to the remote turn on lead on the amp?

If that's what you did, no bueno. Mucho no bueno.

That would keep your amp on 24/7

You need a single blue wire run from your deck. Not rca. You tap the blue with white stripe off the deck (turn on lead). Solid blue is antenna.

I unplug the wire when I get out of the vehicle. That's what he told me to do until I can get that wire. On the back on my deck it has a little black hole for a wire that says W/R above it. Would that be to turn the amp on and off when the deck comes off and on? My deck is a Pioneer DEH-X36UI

The amp has a connection beside the power and ground connections that is labeled 'remote'. The blue wire (18 gauge) comnects there and to the headunit blue/white remote wire. Yes, you need RCA from sub-out at the headunit to the amp. You can then set lowpass to 80hz and have sub volume control. You need a 50 hz testtone on a cd or USB to set the gain using a DMM. First you need to find the max clean volume of the headunit.

So I've decided my new setup for next summer. Gonna do two DD 9518's in a ported wall should be pretty sick! I'll be building the shell over spring break and building the subs during the summer once cash flow picks up again. I am sooo looking forward to it

OK - it's not a sub amp anyway, so the only thing to do right now is amp those Kickers with it (maybe it will help them), then get subs with a mono amp to match them well.

I am not new to the audio scene as i could practcially wire anything you throw at me but i am not familiar with the different kind of amps. So that being said what is the difference between the mono amp and the 4 channel i have now?

Ok i just asked my wife to send me a picture of the amp and its a Volfenhag ZX-7140 2 channel 500 w amp. Should i connect it to my door speakers or the subs? What do yall recommend?
