Dose it do the same thing as a regular amp or no?

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger with a 4.0 in it with a 5 speed manual transmission. It has 4 wheel drive also along with a step side bed. Every thing is stock so far lol!

Yes and no. It's just a cheap amp that puts out a minimal amount of power. A lot of us don't even believe the output to be that considering how small of gauge wire it uses. It just wires in behind your deck. But it's a cheap temporary fix

It's a Class D with a 15 amp fuse, but I still do not believe it puts out a true 45 watts RMS x 4.

What would you use to connect wire to speakers? Solder or the wire connectors? I was thinking about solder

No done solder them use connectors it should come with them in the box

To connect wires yes solder is the best way. But to connect speaker wire to the speakers? No use connectors. Unless I read that wrong

No you didn't read it wrong but you are wrong. A correctly done solder connection is the best. Always. But the female spade terminals are easiest and fastest and most often used.

When I wire decks I use butt connectors and I put them on like caps so there's an open end for testing/diagnostics later

That sounds like a good idea but also a terrible one lol leaves an open end for moisture and shit to get in.
