Meh not really you over exaggerate it a bit IMO. Government around the US is communist, not only CA. CA just has some pretty stupid laws, but so do a lot of states. I'm a 2A supporter as well haha

Back on topic for a second, I have a question for you guys. Do you run your phone/iPod off of a USB, or an auxiliary cable? I'm using my iPhone 5's USB but I heard from a guy at an audio shop that he uses a higher quality aux cable for "better sound". I don't believe this is true, but I figured you guys would know for sure.

Electrical no...cutting yes. Not really worth it. Nice 6X8 components on an amp should be more than enough to satisfy your needs

6x9 will not fit in factory locations in your truck. They only fit 6x8 if you want 6x9 get the boxes for them and put them behind the seat. Also a small amp for them will make them sound better

Yea i know im gonna have to cut my doors. No big deal.
And i dont wanna add another amp or anything. Will the speakers be under powered by just the headunit. (Also powering my rear speakers) or will they be fine.

YES they WILL be underpowered. They need an amp, not the 17rms max from the head unit. You may have a depth problem too so spacers may be needed as well

Amp makes a world of difference in anything you install.

Yup, I love being able to turn up my speakers without distortion, crystal clear at all volumes.

My sub on the other hand... :/

My speakers aren't on an amp yet. But it's all getting redone soon. Here's what I have now.

Keeping the headunit

These are gonna be getting taken out and getting replaced with one little 8 alpine.

I'm putting in a full length console, and I have a reg cab so not a lot of room. I'm gonna try my best to modify the console so I can put the sub in a box that's inside the console. If that doesn't work, it's going behind the passenger seat. But I'm hoping I can make the console work.
