I need to upgrade my speakers in my truck. I have kicker 6x8 but I want something, clearer and punchier. Audison is out of the question lol atleast for now. Hertz doesn't look to bad. I'm looking for a component setup in the front and a normal speaker in the rear I don't know the name, the one with the tweeter on it. Mind fart. Also yes I wanna keep rear speakers because it does make a difference. I have adjusted the radio to only the front and can deff tell it's missing in the rear I have a reg cab.

----------

Even a decent set of speakers up front with the seperate tweeters would be a huge upgrade. The kickers in all reality could stay in the rear. But I'm missing out upfront. When I drive I normally have my left knee up and against the door, idont know why. But when I drive like that it drains out the left side acoustics and the tweeters being placed farther up would help a lot with that.

I have had this system running for about 6 months, and it sounds better all the time. It's my first amp and sub after owning vehicles for nearly twenty years, and part of me is glad it's taken this long, because as damaged as my hearing is now from all the loud music I've listened to in
my life, I would surely need hearing aids or cochlear implants by now if I'd had this stuff as a teen or when I was in college.

This is my second Ranger - I had a Pioneer deck and the four stock speakers in my '89 and it sounded pretty decent actually. I bought this 2010 brand new and the sound was horrific, so I got a Clarion deck cheap and the sound was only slightly improved. I then put in two pairs of Kicker DS68s and while I could turn it up significantly louder without distortion, the sound quality still sucked. I knew I had to get some extra bass in there, so I researched what to do without spending a ton and losing all my cargo space behind the seats in my extended cab.

I follow slickdeals.net and saw a deal alert from Best Buy for a Polk DXi dual voice coil 10" for 29 bucks. I pulled the trigger and kept it on a shelf for a couple months while I looked for an amp.

I wanted a mono amp after a friend experienced in car audio told me they provide the best "bang for the buck." I wanted something small
enough that I could mount underneath the driver's seat so I could minimize the storage loss footprint and a local shop recommended the new Kicker CX line, as they had a very compact option. I had some
Crutchfield rewards points and caught the Kicker CX 300.1 on sale, and pulled the trigger. I bought a Kicker rigging kit, as the quality of the cables looked good and it extended the amp's warranty an extra year.

The amp went under the seat, bought a stock sealed box (recommended cubic volume of course), bought my buddy and I a case of beer and a pizza, and we put everything in on a Saturday afternoon.

The sub/box fits perfectly in the well on the floor right behind the seat, and the box is nice and heavy so it doesn't move at all. I think it all
looks really clean, and pretty incognito as well, just in case thieves happen to take a quick look. I have only recently turn the box so that the sub faces toward the truck's midline; I have had it pointing toward the tailgate since installation and I liked how tight the bass was. Since turning it toward the middle, it's a lot "boomier".

In any event, I am very proud of it. I am not turning any heads at stoplights, but man does it sound good inside. As loud and deep as my truck is now, I don't know how you guys handle these dual sub/amp combos, with thousands of watts of power. My ears would melt!

Clarion CZ401 deck
4 Kicker DS68s
Kicker CX300.1 Mono Amp
Polk DXi Dual Voice Coil 10" Subwoofer in sealed box
Rigged with Kicker cabling

Currently listening to Eric Church, Gemini Syndrome, Drake, Deadmaus, and Bassnectar.

I use 320 mbps files and USB input. Seems to be the best sound quality.

Yes. You really don't need the rear speakers, tho.

I have a iPod nano I keep in my truck always connected to the head unit with specific playlists I made in iTunes. I always try to get the highest possible bitrate for my music, and that's where the difference lies. Anything under 256kbps I won't usually accept into my library.

I love my 30gb. Room for all of my stuff, rockbox can play FLAC lossless files, and mine is in brand new condition. It's black.

My sister had a white one but she stopped using it when she got her touch, and the headphone jack is out on it so sometimes ill use it instead just in case I brought my nano in to sync and I know it won't be ready for a while.

My sister got hers on CL for $40, it was in alright condition, just typical scratches on the back. Then she used it lol :P

Mine was originally from eBay but then I found out it was part of a recall that applied to certain 5th gens so I took it to Apple and basically got a brand new (prob refurbished) 5th gen for $35, the price paid on eBay.

Nice not to bad. I know apple has a recall on the very first nano lol if you have one they will take it back and give you a new first gen nano. There's a problem with battery or something. My mine looks like a lighter hit it on the fave it's got a melt mark but I got it for my truck
