As for speakers... don't bother with 2/3 way, wattage, etc...if you're only going to run them off of head unit power there's few options for good sounding. Speakers are designed to be amplified. If you can't afford speakers and an amplifier... get Infinity speakers. Low cost, great sound, and low sensitivity so they work well on head unit power.
Remember that a head unit can put out MAYBE 17 watts RMS...most speakers require at least 50-60 even for low end speakers.
Recap : Kenwood deck, Excelon if possible. Infinity Reference series speakers

You meant high sensitivity.

Now let's say I can afford it. I don't know how expensive speakers are. Now what would you say?

Re: Show Your System
Well as much as I love the Audison speakers, I don't get too many clients that are interested in spending $400 for a pair of coaxial speakers or $800 for a set of component speakers. Staying in the same family, but not so far up the food chain, you could look at the Hertz speakers as well. The Hertz Dieci are a nice alternative to all the typical main stream speakers you will read about people using on these forums and really are not very expensive. (I'm currently using them myself in my Ranger.) The Hertz Energy are a step up from there offering increased power handling and performance. Both work well with basic radio power but the Energy in particular will really come to life with an amplifier powering them. Both of these lines offer a basic 5X7 coaxial speaker that is a direct replacement for your factory speakers.

Another brand to look at would be Hybrid Audio. They have a Mirus entry level and Imagine step up speaker. The Mirus level offers a 5X7 coaxial speaker but the Imagine does not. The Imagine series does have some unique features that are worth looking at though. I was never a big fan of the Hybrid tweeters at these levels however. They always seemed a little bright to me. Good thing about that though is you can always turn them down which is much better than boosting to make up for week tweeters.

Naturally, there are a lot of other offering, but these are just a couple of my favorites.
