Find a 2 channel amp and don't buy shit brands. Kenwood and kicker are the only amps I've ever used but alpine is damn good

Love my little 300w alpine. It's super sleek and people have no idea where the hell it is

Why would you suggest a 2 channel amp ? Mono amps are made for subs. The subs should be wired together and then wired to 1 mono amp, for best results.

If he's gonna have two subs, it makes sense to have a 2 channel amp so if anything ever goes wrong it's easier to diagnose. Your way works too. Unless you're going really crazy with power output it's not gonna make a hellova difference anyway. He can wire it however he wants. Personally I like the "one sub in a sealed" box sound.

The circuitry in mono amps are better and provide cleaner power which reproduces better sounding bass. I don't understand what's so hard to diagnose. With either amp it will take about the same time to see what went bad.

I think one sub in a sealed box is good two but no matter how many subs or what kind of box you can bet I will have a mono block amp on them

Everyone has their preference and I can respect that. I ran a mono amp for a little while until I picked up this 2 channel 800watt amp. Bridged it and it gets the job done.

Most mono amps are class D topology, which makes them much more efficient at variable output, but not cleaner.
All but a limited number of 2 channel amps will be of a class A/B topology, which is a cleaner output signal, at the cost of efficiency, but a very acceptable compromise.

Class D amps were designed to power lows only. Class A/B were designed to power highs and lows at the same time. That is the main difference. Most A/B Amps power subs just as good as class D. Most people think class D amps per subs better because generally they are more expensive so retail stores and audio shops tell people that false fact.

Actually they are often less money and the advantage to class D mono over class A/B is efficiency, cost and size. A class A/B amp used for subs can certainly sound better but the reality is most people won't hear or appreciate the difference so the fact that they can get a class D mono amp that provides more power for less money and is smaller is why they are so popular.

How good a sub will sound, more or less depends on the quality of the box more than the quality of the sub to some degree.

Ex: a well built and designed box with a cheapo sub will sound leaps and bounds better than say a high quality sub in a piece of junk prefab,

If the sub is in good condition and not abused and the price is right then go for it and it is almost impossible to guess how a sub will sound without any info on the box
