A good amp is not meant to be put into the dash with all the other power wires for noise issues and not a good area to keep cool. Get a good amp like the Alpine MRP-F300.

Long, but very informative thread about that so-called 'amp'. There are alot of other threads about it, but this is the latest.

Re: Show Your System
The way i see the powerpack working is it basically gives you the same volume on the H.U. with less distortion.
My deck goes to 35 i rarely go over 24 and by then the four type r 6x8/5x7's it's powering really sing!
The plug and play benefit was the seller for me at the time i bought it, don't regret it either.
Mine is the first gen design, the new Alpine pnp has a couple more onboard controls than mine.
No heat issue's with mine, it was behind the dash but i moved it to the glove box when the new deck was installed/

Re: Show Your System
No gain adjustment on it also makes me wonder plus with such a small fuse rating there are doubts it actually will do 45 watts RMS x 4 @ 4 ohms.

X10 on this one, your going through that trouble to get more power from your speakers, run some new wire ( I did 14 g ) and run it back to an amp, the f300 doesn't take a shit load of power and there's a few places to mount. Why go throu all that trouble to get 10 more watts. Those speakers will perform amazing when there powered

How's 45rms 10 more than the maybe 17 deck power? For $100 you're getting a decent upgrade

If you're running a relatively small powered amp such as a 100 w amp to the speakers, a 2-4 g upgrade to a 14 or 16 g wire won't do crap. That's not where the issue is. For me the issue is the fact that my speakers are temporarily powered by the HU, and it doesn't put out hardly any power so it distorts quickly. The alpine power pack will do good for all I need. I don't have a very high wattage system to begin with.
