So when looking for a head unit, more pre-amp voltage is better?

Its not a must, it can help with interference.

So I have a random question for you guys, it may seem stupid again: ford speakers have an adapter on them, it's a 2 prong I believe, but I'm at work ATM and can't 100% remember. Anyways, I didn't know about these until I tore the door off. I didn't want to spend an assload of money for them or wait and have them shipped, so I cut the wire and used an adapter to directly attach the + and - terminals. Is this ok? It was my dads idea and I was hesitant. I can take pictures when I get home at 5

The other box was too big. The sub is supposed to have a box at 1.25 cubic ft. The ones wr made are around 1.5 it sounds just as goos as the old box if not better.

It should support some pull if I ever decide to upgrade alternators.
