The reference components are very nice for their price point. But they're just entry level speakers. It all honestly depends on one's budget. Imo if you buy something and spend your hard earned money for it and you're happy then thats all that matters

After all the hard work, I guess this is the place to show it off. After about a month of working on it my stereo is finished. It would have gone much faster but I couldnt buy everything at once so it took longer. I put Gt-mat, similiar to dynamat throughout my whole car and what a difference it made. I'm running my old sony head unit from my previous vehicle, (saving money for a touchscreen display). I am running 6 1/2 inch Polk Audio DB6501 components in the front, the crossovers are hidden in the kick panels. In the rear I am running 6 1/2 inch Polk Audio DB651 coaxials. They are all connected to a Kenwood Excelon X450 amp, which runs 100 watts to the front components and 60 watts to the rear coaxials. The Kenwood is mounted on the front of my subwoofer enclosure, which is a sealed box that holds a Mobile Monitor series Polk Audio 10 inch subwoofer. Making the box was a pain but it turned out very well. If anyone wants dimensions for this box or anything just ask, It is made to fit directly against the back wall so it can be riveted in place, making it very sturdy. I just cut the back panel and now it just runs up to either side of the box. The sub is being run off a monoblock Polk Audio PA600 amplifier which is hidden under the driver seat. Yes almost all of my system is polk audio but there is a good reason for that.

Lol now I feel embarrassed for hacking up my door panels for the DB's. How did you go about fitting them?

There's a ton of room in these doors. 6.5's should fit no problem, I currently run 6.5" CDT's in the rear.
Here's a quick snap of the front components before dynamat/paint/aesthetics. It's a 6" mid with a 1" ring radiator.

Also on the sundown note, all I'm going to say about them is when they first came out about 7 years ago, there was a LOT of hype back then also. Some people were claiming the amps were underrated by up to 50%. I had the opportunity to test a couple of their amps (IIRC they were 3000d's), and I will say that they at least put out their rated power. I wouldn't buy them, nor do I slander them. That is all, thanks.

That is a much cleaner adapter than mine lol. I surface-mounted 1/2" MDF and it made the woofer stick out too much. It was pressed up against the door panel.

Thanks!, I used brackets I got off of amazon. Got them for the front and the back speakers. The plastic was about a little wider than an 1/8 of an inch and was surprisingly very strong. i would have liked to surface mount them so I could have used the speaker grilles that come with them because they look sweet but it wouldn't have worked with these door panels.

I would have just ordered some brackets but I figured the MDF would be beneficial to sound quality since its a little more sturdy. I didn't know if the plastic would have vibrated or anything like that.

nice clean install man love that box, would love one kinda like that but for 2 12s, like one on the wall and one on the floor i think would look kinda cool plus make seats functionable lol

I think I might even have the 3d pictures of it somewhere. I'll look when I get home.

Sound stream is less than what it used to be...I'll give you that. They still have a few decent products though, in my opinion.

Whiston I bet your doors sound pretty nice. I like the setup. I considered trying to do something similar to that.

I Dont have any pictures of my setup while it was in :-(
