4 12"s + reg cab = No airspace. Could probably get more bang from a single 12", and keep some legroom.

Doing a blowthrough soon, with two 12s instead of four...
It was a legacy red series 2, a few years old, blew another amp today, a 2,000 watt legacy. gonna get one with a 3 year warrenty next.

I enjoyed reading this thread PropertyCO. I hope you end up with a good set-up that doesn't compromise your safety. (where your legs aren't a crumple zone)

Re: Four 12's in my 97 reg cab ranger. [56k warning]
@tskater14
that's similar to how my box fits, like i said, doing a blowthrough soon.
@ranger024x4
legacy =/= lanzar
sony xplodes are decent, not top of the line, but not cheap, we didn't buy any thing for this project, we already had all of it.
@2002 2WD Edge
thanks, i do appreciate it!

either way, they arnt that great. And with the way you are blowing up amps, id bet you have the subs wired wrong, and dropping your ohm load to 1 ohm. That amp cannot take that low of a load

Re: Four 12's in my 97 reg cab ranger. [56k warning]
I'm sorry, but there is just so much wrong with this set up.....
no leg room
the box is not even close to being a proper size for those subs
will not sound that great
the cab doesn't even have enough airspace for those things
wrong wiring
and on and on...
you will be much better off/safer just doing a single 12 set up with a proper volumed box, and decent equipment. Props for doing the work though...
Rafal

Re: Four 12's in my 97 reg cab ranger. [56k warning]
@ranger024x4
Not going to let this get into a bashing forum, It was wired in paralel, then in series, both times the amp failed. If all you're going to do is troll, please try that on another forum.
@FX4
I know, i planned on stuffing it with insulation if we could keep the amp working to make it sound better. I knew the box wasn't big enough to begin with, it was just a trial to see if it'd work. About the leg room, I changed it up a little, and now I have plenty, i'm only 5'6" so it's not like i'm huge. Not having enough air space in the cab didn't really come to thought.
But hey, for my first box and only being 17, I think I did good.

Re: Four 12's in my 97 reg cab ranger. [56k warning]
save a lil more money and go with for instance a 1200 watt audioque amp and a 12" jbl power series. thatd put you in high 130s for sure
