Just looking for a few quick answers to some questions. I'm thinking about installing an aftermarket CD deck in my Ranger. So far, it looks pretty easy from some of the pix I've seen and what I've read. Just how easy is it? I know I'll need a wiring kit, install kit, and the removal tools, but is it plug-n-play? Or do I need to do a little splicing?

Also, if I were to add a subwoofer, do I need to have an amp, or can it just run off the stereo itself?

I'm not looking to rattle the block or anything, just a little more bass is all I'm looking for. I'm a bassist, so I like the kick in the pants from the bass lines and bass drum. I'm probably going to go on the cheaper side of this, and I know that you get what you pay for, so I'm not expecting top notch quality/sound. Just a little more of it

For the headunit, all you need is the install kit and the wiring kit. It's a very easy install and shouldn't take you more than an hour. As for a sub, you'll need a seperate amp. The headunit doesn't put out enough power for a sub.
