I was looking to upgrade my 2010 XL (basic AM/FM radio) and had kind of gravitated to the same Pioneer that you picked. I had a couple of questions on installing the thing. Although I've never worked on a car newer than about 1970 (my truck seems like the flippin' space shuttle compared to cars I used to work on!), I think I understand the basic radio removal, the wiring harness, and trim adapter that you get from Crutchfield.

What I'm a little sketchy on is whether or not I have to rip into the dash beyond removing the factory radio? The Pioneer instructions I downloaded from Crutchfield indicate some sort of metal strap hangar that attaches to the rear of the unit.

If I do have to pull apart the dash, can you give me an indication of what is involved and any specialized tools that you used? Any information would be much appreciated.

Crutchfield or amazon is where I'd buy from.

I found my Sony head unit at Crutchfield, but it was $50 cheaper from amazon... even less with a gift card.

Dual is kinda the Jensen of the new millennium. Back in the day, Jensen was just above SparkOmatic. They have lots of fancy looking features, but I don't know how well they'd work, how long they'd last or how good their support is.

I'd stick with a name brand like Sony, Alpine, Pioneer, etc.

I love my Sony, it has everything but bluetooth... but a slightly different model than mine had bluetooth too. I have no real use for it, my phone has a speakerphone & I don't talk on it that much when driving. Mine has USB & aux inputs, 3 sets of RCA outs, remote, flip down face, built in crossover & EQ, etc. I don't even carry CD's with me anymore, I use a 4gb microSD flash drive.
