Thanks. It took me about 2 days to make the box because i'm a beginner and a few hours to wire. It sounds so clean.

Just to help you out with possible future box builds: To keep from spliting the wood like that just pre-drill the holes first or use a brad nailer + wood glue. Brad nailer can be had at Harbor Freight for approx $15 on sale. Option "C" is to just use glue and clamps.

What I wound up doing was pre drilling the holes in my second box, then counter-sank then, then when I used screws, I used a super-low tork setting. That was the solution.

What did you use to attach the carpet to the box, im trying adhesive spray... but it isn't working well

looks like a 10 which is all you need in such a small sized ranger..got one in mine and is perfect and sometimes too much

Painless predrill/countersink in one step =
Also using screws with a threadless shank at the top = or > to the thickness of the wood it passes through will apply 100% of the screws clamping force to the joint.
Anyway you produced a hell of a final result!!

looks good i just wired up 2 10s from my room into my truck sounds good. =D but there in the bed. =/ harder to here in the cab.
