Default usb input not working properly

well since ive finally fixed my ranger and are out and about with it i tried to use the usb input on my headunit and it went for alll of about 10 seconds before making this god awfull static sound and then it stopped working i can get it to work around 10-15 secs before it does it again so i was just wondering if it may be something simple like a blown fuse or did i fuck it up when i got into that wreck and if anyone had a similar problem and fixed it somehow

oh and this is my head unit

dont know about the headunit, Personally ive always have had Sonys crap out on me so I tend to stay away from them. Id say definitely 4 ohm on your sub choice though.

Pull the hu and check for loose wiring, and possibly try a different usb drive.

Its definitely not a fuse...or it wouldnt work at all. Not even 10 seconds. Its either wiring is loose or something internal got thrashed in your wreck. Sony makes kick ass home electronics, but their car audio is sub par....So im willing to bet it was something internal. If I were you, Id get a new headunit before you got the 12's anyways.

I dont know much about ohms...but Im pretty sure ive never ran higher than 2ohm with subs.

the ohm load on the subs should match the prefered ohm load on the amp.. if your amp is 2 ohm mono stable get 4 ohm subs.. if its 4 ohm mono stable get 8 ohm subs. If your usb drive is too large storage wise the radio might not be able to understand all the data.. how big is your drive? usually i reccomend nothing bigger than 4 g.
