Will one fit? Crutchfield is telling me no. Wasn't the factory CD/cass. a DD? What's to stop it from fitting, the AC vents at the top?

Yes it will fit

Only thing preventing it is the little lips on top and bottom of the opening. File them down get a install kit and your good to go.

I got a install kit meant for 2 single din radios. cut the middle bar out and fit perfectly.

If you order from crutchfiled just use a 02 explorer as your vehicle.

Finally got my Pioneer headunit

i put a pioner double din touch screen with an internal 6 dvd/cd changer in my truck that crutchfield said would not fit, and it looks like it was made for my 01 ranger. Super easy install

Off topic here but how did you do the steering wheel buttons blue? How do you get into it. And what kind of HIDs are you hitting? That color is sick. And the stereo is sick too ^_^. Thanks

You don't need an install kit. DD Pioneer fits my '02 perfectly without any trimming or kit.

You need an install kit. You can get them from Walmart for like $15. Why would you want to risk dropping your expensive headunit out of the dash while driving?

It won't come out. It's snapped in there tight just like the stock was.

Yeah... we do it all the time. Just push all the tabs on the radio chassis... and you'll have no problem whatsoever.

OK ... I get the feeling that some peeps on this forum think DD or double din means a head is nav or DVD. It doesn't. DD or double din only means it is a double size head vs a single din or standard size head.
