Question Help Determining which set of speakers go where

Hello,
I’m working on a new-to-me 1999 Ford Ranger extended cab and was going to use some old school aftermarket speakers I still have lying around from a same year Ford Explorer I had in the past. But I was wondering – ignoring headunit and potential upgrades like an amp – which speakers should go where? I currently have 3 different sets of 6x8 and am not sure which should go in the front/rear based on the Ranger’s acoustics. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pioneer TSP-682 Plate Speakers
Pioneer TS-A6895 Speakers
Pioneer TS-A6882R 4 Way Speakers

Thanks!

Better speakers up front. I personally would get new speakers. You can get some half decent speakers for $120-$150, throw a small power pack amplifier ( goes behind the radio ) and it'll sound amazing for a low price.

Thank you! Right now, I'm just trying to work with some extra sets I've had sitting around over the years, but depending on the sound quality, (it's likely not a daily driver), I might look to upgrade. I even have some extra amps and subs, but I feel like that would be overkill even in the extended/2 door cab. They're 12s

Looking at the speakers and going off your suggestion, I think I'll throw the Pioneer TS-A6882R 4 Way Speakers in the front. Then thinking Pioneer TS-A6895 Speakers in the rear panels.

Are there any issues to look out for like shallow speaker depth or maybe something not required but a big improvement for the buck like speaker baffles?

Thanks again!

i’m a fan of the foam baffles but . . . IMO they do not sound that good sealed and should have some vent holes slit into the back (i did two 3/4” x 2”) and lightly stuffed with polyfil.

The holes defeat some of the weather proofing aspect but it doesn’t seem like an issue with our trucks the polyfil does a good job of filtering any dust and keeping things clean on the reverse side.

Some kind of sound deadening material like Dynamat, StingerMat, SoundSkins, etc.

Makes a world of difference and can find some decent stuff on Amazon cheap

Thanks all for the input! I'm walking into this with the mindset "I'll use what I have" and now I'm slowly warming up to the idea of putting dynomat or whatever equivalent everywhere. It's like a disease!
