I'm lokkin to get a new sub setup for my ext cab 2000 Ford Ranger, But I'm not sure what to get. Just need somethin cheep that will make my truck shake

you wont get anything cheap that shakes ur truck, trust me. if you want something to start with get like 2 legacy max pro 10's or 12's with about a 1500 watt amp or better. all thats about 300 to 400 $$$. Trust me car audio aint cheap anymore, i went from 1 10, to 2. 12's, to 1 15, and back to 12's. something thats sounds good in a extended cab ranger is 2 12's and build you a custom box, thats always the way to go.

if you want cheap beat....look at hifonics on sonicelectronix.com....if my memory serves me right they have a 4k max amp sub for around 200

All you need is a used mid level amp (sony, kenwood, etc), and then you can cheap out on a new speaker (100$ is the max i usually go). You shouldn't be worried about distortion unless you plan to buy a chinese amp that costs 60$ and is rated 3000w.

BestBuy sometimes has specials on sub/box/amp kits, or you could also go for an amplified bazooka. Sorry, i don't know other stores than BB that sells audio in the states.

if you buy new ull get raped price wise id search around for used and make sure they workbefore buyin em... i got my 2 power acoustik 12s and a 500 watt rockford fosgate amp all for $150 just depends wat u waant

How do I know what amp to get for my subs

when u get ur subs look at the max watts but mostly rms watts... when u go to buy an amp look at its max and rms to. you should get an amp that is close to the same rms as ur 2 subs together but ur better to get one a lil bit under.. example 2 10 subs 500 watts max 250 rms watts each thats a total of 1000 max 500 rms so your best bet for an amp is 400-500 watts rms you dont want to over power your subs= blow em up and you dont want to under power em because over time that will mess em up hope this helps =)

i was lucky. i got a 2 kickers and a rockford ampfor 120 dollars. i found that having the box sit in my back facing the bed led to some problems with sound, so im gonna cut the box in half and orient the subs facing each other on opposite sides of the back.

try checking craigslist. you can find some good sound equipment on there if you look hard enough. sure its used, but used doesnt necessarily mean its bad

I like how everyone is biased to their own systems so much that they can't even suggest something that isn't exactly the same as their system.

To OP, Power Acoustik makes some high-ish powered subs for dirt cheap. A hifonics amp will suffice as well, and you'll be inside your budget still.

my buddy uses Power Acoustik amps for his systems...Right now he has them pushing a couple CVXs (or CVRs I forget) and he replaced the black cover with clear plexiglass...looks sick...Oh shit, forgot Im driving his honda...Ill go snap a pic in a sec.
