this is such a juvinile thread. Dont get crap subs or amps. get ONE good 10 or 12 and ONE good amp. kicker, jl audio, not pioneer from walmart. and that hifonics amp is crap trust me. so find a 4000watt kicker amp, it will cost over 1500.00 and that hifonics is about 150.00. does that sound right. no cause its not true watts its peak watts and overrated peak watts at that. This should be illegal and one day it will unil then we get misrepresentation within the stereo community

Why the fuck would he buy a $1500 amp for 4000w? You must be the one who doesn't know much. There's amps out there that put out that much power for WAY less.

Who pissed in your cheerios? You can get a 5500w BAMF series power acoustik for less than $350. Ive personally heard it pushing 2 CVX 15's and it sounds awesome...If you're gonna go with power acoustik, get a BAMF series amp.

hahahaaa, if you're looking for good power not too steap price check out JL AUDIO, got a single 6W3v3 in mine, 6inch sub driver max power is 150watt i'm running it at 120 right now, in a small cab like a ranger or anyother quarter-ton pickup it is insane, prices are around 250$ to 350$ not that cheap but they are the best in the business, period end of story

JL audio nutswingers never use anything other than JL, so they are unexperienced in the audio world and don't know what sounds good and what sounds bad, only what JL sounds like. And since they paid alot of money for it, JL must sound good.

Exactly why I hate mainstream brands. If you want a single sub, small power load but will sound good, there's an RL-i8 which is anywhere from 200-400W power handling, an Fi X10 which is ~300W power handling, the SA-8, or the new prototypes which are the E8 v2 (I think?) which also handles from 200-400W. All of those cost around $100 and are much more of a bang for your buck than JL.

$350 for a 6inch sub? WHAT THE FUCK.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not calling JL audio crap, I'm just saying that it's WAAAAYYYY overpriced.

Brad what sub are you looking at for $350? A friend of mine just bought 2 12" JL w3's for $230. I don't get how you guys are saying they're way overpriced. Maybe I'm missing something here.

no doubt they are pretty steap i agree, but the 350$ for 6inch driver you get the box made, well tuned wether sealed or ported in any shop you choose. but the power you get out of that little beast is surprising, i've had people parking beside me with them 10 and 12inchers blasting the shit out of them but once they sitted in my truck they were astounded, plus you gotta admit, 6inches mean quite compact and that's why i bought that one for mine it's a regular cab. and one thing that comes from JL audio, sound quality all the way it's what they focus on, they may not be the best at everything i agree, certaintly not at power output, but you can't deny they sound awesome, and no JL audio is not mainstream brand from where i'm from i'm one of maybe 2-3 guys that has some of their stuff

to each is own, all depends the application you're running, for me, needing something compact, JL was the only thing i could get small size good power extremely durable, and that little 6 inch sucker can shake my truck real good if i want it tobut size ain't always the answer, most of the time it all depends on how well your box is made, tuned ported and well sealed costed me around 270$ for it and the box and if someone comes nagging at me that's WAAAY to pricy, just shut up, sit in the damn truck and i'll crank it up for ya and blow you away

You can have the best sub in the world and have a shitty box and make it sound bad. Same thing with a crappy sub/ good box. but the power you get out of that little beast is surprising, There's a lot of other small subs that can handle that amount of power, as I listed in my earlier post. i've had people parking beside me with them 10 and 12inchers blasting the shit out of them but once they sitted sitted? in my truck they were astounded, plus you gotta admit, 6inches mean quite compact and that's why i bought that one for mine it's a regular cab. and one thing that comes from JL audio, sound quality all the way it's what they focus on, Many different companies also focus on SQ, not only JL. they may not be the best at everything i agree, certaintly not at power output, but you can't deny they sound awesome, and no JL audio is not mainstream brand JL is pretty mainstream. from where i'm from i'm one of maybe 2-3 guys that has some of their stuffThat's because not everyone has $300 to dish out for a single driver.

See red.

I'm sorry if I seem a bit hostile here, but the reason why I hate JL fanboys is because they praise their systems so much and say shit like "YA DOG MY SISTUM WILL BLOW YOURS OUT OF THE WATER BECAUSE I GOTS A JL 12W7".

build your own box and save $170. I doubt I will be blown away by your system... I might be surprised, surprised like when I see a honda with nitrous...but it's still a 6 inch 150w sub...you could fit a 10 or a 12 in a reg cab without sacrificing much space.
