Question Put in a new battery, now CD changer messed up

So yesterday a new battery went in. Today I fire up the CD player and it started playing the CD in slot 6. I didn't have it there before. I tried to change slots but it wasn't detecting the fact that all of them are full. So in an attempt to possibly make it self-detect stuff, I ejected #6 and went to load it in #1 (which I knew was full). It actually took the CD through the opening, and nothing. Didn't spit it back out or play or anything. Nothing but servo noise for a couple minutes.

I did have to set the clock, which I expected and it's fine. AM/FM is fine. Sound is fine.

This is the factory 6-disc player for a 2004.

Is there maybe some random sequence of buttons I can push to get it right, or do I need to (gulp) take it to the dealer?

Default Re: Put in a new battery, now CD changer messed up

The issue could be resolved by doing the following:

1. Remove and unplug the unit using DIN tools (2 u-shaped tools that fit into holes on your stereo. Get them at most automotive stores) Instructions:
(It might require a fair bit of wiggling, unlike in the video)

2. Unscrew and remove the top metal casing plate

3. Manually remove the top disc, which should be accessible through the top of the device.

Once you replace the unit it should automatically recognize the remaining discs and allow you to use the machine as normal.

I hope this helps.

EDIT: Should be the same radio unless you have the Audiophile upgraded version.
