Default Wiring a Kenwood head unit

The person before me in the 05 didn't know why the stereo didn't work, I pulled the old head unit and saw all the wire were cut to it, so I purchased a Kenwood head unit, and can't seem to figure out which wire connects to where, the colors of the wires don't match at all, not really the greatest when it comes to figuring out what goes where, anyone have a clue?

Need to find a wiring diagram for your year of truck. I'm assuming the factory harness plug for the radio was cut off?

it would be helpful to know what year your truck is.

once we know what year your truck is I am sure someone may step up with a wiring diagram. If it is a 2002 I may be able to help.

I tried to upload a diagram yet I couldn't due to copy right protection.

He said in the 05. Assuming 2005. Only ones I'd be able to help with is 12v and 12v key. You can use a test light or a DMM to find those.

Without a diagram, you won't know.

Schematics for your entire vehicle are on bbbind.com Maybe print the schematic for the OEM audio system for your vehicle, note what each wire does, look in your Kenwood manual at what each wire on the deck connector does, and proceed.

Dude, just put in your vehicle information into this site and it will give you everything you need for the wiring diagram of your truck.

http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd

Then use the wiring diagram at the back of the Kenwood's manual to figure out what wire goes where. Heck the wires on the Kenwood are also probably labeled/silk screened as to where they go (speaker, battery, ground, remote, etc).

The wires on almost all aftermarket head units will be the same colors. However the wire colors of all vehicles will be very different. Don't match vehicle wire color to aftermarket head unit wire color because it will never work.

Got it all wired up, worked fine, started the truck to move it out of the garage and the starter just kept going when I hit the clutch, now I'm really at a loss,
