Hi everyone im new to this forum, well ok iv never been on a forum b4 but i think iv figured it out im only 17 and dont know alot about sound systems thanx for any help... allright heres the deal i have an 05 fx4 extended cab, i have ran my rca jacks to my HU and i have a power wire hooked straight to my battery ran through my firewall by my pedals to my amp, i have the ground in the back where the back seat bolts in and i dont really know where to run the remote wire so i havnt done that yet but my amp wont even turn on...the protect light is not even coming on what do i do?

pic would help ALOT.. just put them on photobucket and use the insert picture button in the message bar... id go ahead and run the remote wire too.. i ran mine under the paeesnger side door sill with my rcas.. ran the power on the drivers side sill

Amp wont turn on without the remote wire hooked up

Should be a spot on the HU amp the amp for it to connect. then just run down the door seal to hide it

As STL said. The remote wire sends the signal to the amp that the radio is powered on, in turn giving the signal to the amp to power on. Think of it as a type of "protection" to keep the amp from drawing power with no where to send the power.
+1 for what Will said too. Make sure to run your RCA/remote wires on the opposite side of the truck from your power wire. If you run all three wires down the same side of the truck you will introduce interference through your speakers.

Another thing, make sure to put an inline fuse as close to the battery as possible.

x2 if you bought an amp kit it should have came with an inline fuse.

i also grounded out on the bolt that holds the seat in... just took the paint off everything and it truned out to be a great and clean looking spot

Thanx everyone i feel like a retard i hooked up the remote today and every thing worked great,i bought an amp kit and wired everything up and i ran the power line under the driver side seal,and the power line has an inline fuse on it, and i also grounded it on the back seats in the ext. cab... Thanx everyone for the help

good deal.. did you remember to run thr rcas and the remote wire on the other side? and PICS!!! i wanna see this!
