Re: Aux
Actually I found a way of installing an aux input without any adapter electronic gadgets or bypassing a cd player or cassette player.
Notice there is no cd player in the pictures. Just cut the connection between the radio and the main board and solder in the aux jack.

Re: Aux Input
If you have the cassette radio, all connections are made on the bottom.

I have the same radio and I want to add aux, but I can't go anywhere with just these pictures. Can you please post instructions?

Re: Aux
Ok, I will try to explain the process.
Go to Radio Shack. You will need a stereo jack part # 274-0246 and a piece of cat 5 cable. (length depending on where you are going to mount the jack, on the face is a royal pain, the only place is above the #2 button with some precision drilling and cutting)
Pic #1 solder the aux jack as follows, Green= ground left aux out= brown left aux in= white w/brown stripe right aux out= orange right aux in= white w/orange stripe.
Pic #2 take the bottom off the radio, locate the 8 pin connector, upper left side (front of radio towards you)
Pic #3 Break the connection from the 8 pin connector on pins 6 and 7 (between the pins and resistors) with a very small screwdriver.
Pic #4 solder wires from aux jack as shown (be careful with the heat so as not to disturb the resistors)
Pic #5 plug and play,,,

Re: Aux
I found another type of Ford CD radio in my collection.
If you have the same radio as pic #1, The procedure is still the same, only a different radio section and main board.
Pic #2 shows the radio section in the back ground and 6 connection points to the left of the antenna connector. You will want pins #1 & 2
(from left to right) Break the hairline circuits just before the resistors.-
Solder the radio outputs to your aux jack terminals 3 and 4 (Radio Shack part # 274-0246) Solder your aux jack from terminals 2 and 5 to the resistors closest to the radio section. Pick up and good ground (terminal 1) anywhere you find convenient.

I'm going to get my dad and uncle to help me with this because they are good with electronics. After I do this when I want to use the aux, I just plug an aux in right? Or do I need to install a switch somewhere? Also I noticed that my radio has an auto set that the radio shown does not have, will this still work with mine?

Re: Aux
Nothing else will be needed or switched on or off. The jack will be breaking the L&R signal from the radio before it goes to the amp section.

this is a nicer one, I'm sure you can find one cheaper.

Re: Aux
Put in a new headunit. They look better and are extremely better quality than the stock Ford.
