So I want a new head unit for my truck, however I want something stock looking, double 'din' size, and that goes with the color seems of the intenior lights. And theres only one unit I found to match. That is the Kenwood DPX308U (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA1CZ0C98009). A few questions, do I need a plastic part to go around this to fit in the stock surround? Also can I buy a normal walmart type wiring harness for my '02 and it'll be plug and play? Or do I need to match up each wires one by one? Also if theres any other 2'din' head units that color matches the ranger's green please post them.

a dash kit would be needed and a wiring kit also and there will still be some wiring between the kit and the radio

Yea I know theres wiring kits, but will the wiring kit work 100% without the need to solder any wires?

The main reason why I'm doing this is because I have the stock 6disc changer however the lifter inside the unit does not work anymore. It doesn't rise/lower just it should (the part that rises/lower and picks the disc to play). Could there be a quick fix for this?

all a wiring kit does is keep you from having to cut the factory harness you will still have to wire the radio to the harness kit and then plug that into the factory harness.

and im not sure about the radio problem

Most head units you can get these days have selectable colors so you can factory match the illumination. Im not sure to what degree they are all customizable, but I know the JVC units have a very specific system that uses RGB values out of 31 so you can get it exactly the same color. That's one of my favorite things about mine.

I just got a pioneer for $250. Looks good in dash and not too aftermarket-y I think lol. I like the stock look as much as possible but wanted a better sound, iPod connectivity etc. you can change the color to pretty close but not exactly match the dash lights. I don't have any good pictures of it yet but here's some crappy ones I took

Edit: the colors look a lot closer to what the dash does in real life. For some reason they look different in the pics
