Okay i know this was probably answered somewhere else and for that i am sorry... lol

I want to put a new head unit in and i really dont want the gap underneath my deck, so i was thinking about putting a double DIN deck in.

This is the deck i was looking at, its the Pioneer AVIC-U310BT

i dont know if anyone has used this before or not, but i wanted to know if it would fit, and would it look good if i had to make it fit? (just taking off the side supports for the stock head unit or what?)

I have a Alpine double din in my truck

Need to trim the little lip on the top and bottom of radio bezel.

Need to buy this install kit

All you do is cut the middle bar out of the install kit and the Double Din fits in

If you have a audio shop around you. You can just go in and tell them what ur doing. They will also be able to hook u up with a dash install kit.

The lip on the radio bezel is easy to trim off. You just have to trim some then try and repeat as needed.

oh ill probably order it from Sonic Electronix, ive ordered from them before, and they include all of the dash install kits and wiring, which is really nice!

i ordered my last head unit from them which i sold off when i sold my sub, then i remembered why i got rid of my stock head unit! haha go figure

If they are anything like crutchfield.com they will tell you it will not fit.

That is what happened when I bought mine. I had to just lie and say I was installing it in a 2005 explorer.

I've put one of these in a Dodge Charger before. They're kind of weird but they're still nice headunits.

technically the factory radio is a double din but for what ever reason people say you cant install one.

The screen pops off and it's like it's own little GPS unit. I didn't take time to figure it out but it seemed like it could be pretty cool.
