Re: Single din install kits
I got mine at Walmart. Don't know what brand it was, but other than having about a million tabs you had to cut off (it fit about 20 different vehicles), it worked perfectly. It's been installed for about 2 or 3 years now, and I love the added cubby hole.

Re: Single din install kits
Thought I'd let anyone know - I ended up getting a scosche FD1327B mounting kit and a metra 70-1771 wiring adapter. Both are high quality pieces. Opted for the scosche because it was cheap and available for 2-day shipping on amazon prime. Love that service.
Anyway, install went great. Got my JVC KD-R760 receiver installed in about 25 minutes. No amp, no new speakers. Just head unit. Note that this install kit says it is only for 95-2003 rangers, but I used it perfectly on my 2008 xl.

I had a generic SD enclosure on the Focus when I bought it before I got a double din Kenwood HD unit. Realized how much I used the cubby below the single din Aiwa head- CD's, cell phone, parking receipts, fitted clip ones form the prescription glasses I had back then, etc.
