Default Super Secret Double Hidden Radio?

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade my stock stereo to something that at a minimum allows me to stream BT. I love my Pandora.

I have some concerns about security though, as I park my truck a ways away from where I live, and I'd prefer to not advertise that I have a nice radio. I know some radios have a detachable face, and that's cool and all... But...

I was wondering if theres a mod I could do to keep a crappy looking stereo face with minimum actual functionality, and behind it have a BT receiver with some sort of small amp or EQ to drive decent power to my speakers?

Just curious if anyone has seen anything like this.

Otherwise I'll stick with a detachable face HU. But that one time I forget...

most aftermarket radios you can remove the face and hide it or take it with you

Yeah, but Then I have to remember to take it with me. And if someone sees a detached radio in the truck, chances are the face is under the seat and they'll break in anyways.

If someone sees a junky radio face though...

You can rewire it into the glove box or center console.

I've done a couple in the glove box on classics

love that dummy faceplate. looks perfect. should even go as far as to break a cd in half and glue it into the slot, that way youve got a convenient handle to remove the dummy plate.

Not a bad option either. Plenty of room in there I think.

Yeah I was trying to figure a way I could maybe hinge it, but it always ends up in the way of my shifter when open. I have a while before I make a purchase to think about it some more.
