Re: best head unit?
some sweet head units. like the customization of the alpine decks with the background wallpaper. is it hard to do the E-brake bypass switch? that would be sweet if i could have the dvd player as well.

Re: best head unit?
I don't know why people still buy those overpriced brand names anymore when there are companies that offer better products for much less.

I have had non brand name radios before. I will never own another either. They dont last our produce the sound quality I am after.
With some alpine radio's you can go to the website I posted earlier. Go there and fine tune your audio setting and download to a USB drive and load it up. All you have to do is enter how your car is set up and it automatically recommends the best settings for you

Well the only company i'd buy from is innovatek, they sell good quality units (that, and you can play bejeweled 2, sometimes doom on your radio! ).
I know they got re-branded for sale by a couple american companies.
What most people don't know is, a lot of companies make their products in china now, and quality has gone to the toilet. People pay more and more for the prestige that a brand name brings them, and less and less for any difference in quality.

Re: best head unit?
Why when you go to the innovatek website it says Innovatek (Hong Kong) Limited?
Even if American companies re-brand it they are still selling a imported product.
So you say stuff from China is not quality product but Hong Kong product is?
Hong Kong is in what country?

Re: best head unit?
Reference the by pass switch. No it is not hard. All the E-brake saftey on these decks is, is a wire that needs power to activate. Splice a wire from your battery (12v constant) run it to a toggle. Then attach the E-brake saftey wire to the toggle and your done.

no no
You were saying non-brand names were cheap and didn't last, so i replied most companies make their products in china now, and i know that HK is part of china since 97. It's just that people, because the unit is severely overpriced, think they are buying better, when in fact, it's not. And sometimes, worse.
This is where i buy my innovatek products from: http://www.mp3playerstore.com/

lol stupid alpine. On every other normal deck all you have to do is see if the "e-brake" wire needs a switch, if you can get away with just grounding it then its easy, I know kenwoods you just ground, clarions need a switch.
Vrod you'll fry a every deck you hook up like that. It needs to see ground.
