Default Audio Shop Installs

I saw a post by GLH that I took offense to

I doubt that he has a clue about installing and probably has no clue how to do a custom install

I worked as an installer for 15 years and at age 48, I decided to put my Degree in Mathematics to use.

Not all car audio installers suck. But where I live 95% of them are hacks and do shit work. If you know what your doing and you do things right then I would have no problem paying to have things built and installed. But around me they can hide things behind panels and most people won't look.

It's usually a ripoff. Most use alot of discontinued components and charge cost + 60%, they don't properly train their installers, print certificates off the internet, use cheap wiring, take shortcuts, and teach the 'gift of gab'. Those and the tint shops stay in business an average of about 3 months.

A lot of shops do suck yes, but a lot are very reputable as well. I know my shop most certainly is top notch.

I hope yours is, but I am going along with the 95% bad reference by Casey above. Usually they are fly by night and leave for another area when word of mouth catches up to them.

That's good. If your doing good work and all your employees know what they are doing then your good. Like I said it's all about where you live. By me they are all hacks.
