What is a good aftermarket stereo?
I have just bought a 2004 black Ford Ranger FX4 Level II as my first car. Now that I have settled down in the truck there is one thing I want, a new stereo. I am looking for a stereo that has Bluetooth and DVD support. If there is any with GPS then throw that in. I want it to not look that much out of the ordinary, so I think if it had green lights on it, it would look nice. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Travis

As nice as that is, I have a Droid Mini and I don't think it is compatible.

Check out Kenwood Excelon DD size. I think they have better Droid support than Pioneer, but none are really very good with Droid from what Ive seen. Dont get regular Kenwood. JVC Arsenal might be good also. Not regular JVC. BTW, Kenwood and JVC are the same company nowadays. Congrats on your first ride !

Hmm, how about ones without GPS? These are a bit out of range, price wise.

You mean navigation ? Not all DD size headunits are navi. You should save up and get something good instead of getting disappointed. Then save up again and get good speakers.

I am looking at this one here: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-DDX471HD.html
Crutch Field said that it is a modified fit, my question is, how big of modifications do I have to do?

Do I need an installation kit for it?
Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to make a mistake.

Yes you do need a mounting kit even for a double din setup.

I recently got a pioneer avh-x3500bhs and it's pretty awesome! It has Bluetooth and HD radio as well as many other cool features. I would buy the radio off of crutchfield.com since they give you free wiring harnesses the mounting kit, and easy instructions, all while having a lower price on most radios as well.

Re: What is a good aftermarket stereo?
Pretty decent head unit but I do have one major complaint with it. The illumination is WAY too bright. It does have a manual dimmer setting but even all the way down it is a little bright especially at night. This has been a consistent issue with several Pioneers this year actually so it's not just this one.
