3 audio questions
well for the past few months my driver side speakers will cut on/off at random and it hasnt bugged me as its sounded half decent still but its annoying me now that ive driven my truck for the 1st time in a while. In the time my truck was broke i had a 2014 corolla LE with a pretty great sounding factory stereo n today when i got my truck back i listened to the stereo in my truck(all aftermarket) n felt...dissapointed in the sound quality ,it had much more bass but not near the quality..now there are 3 questions here
1) could i wire in 2 additional tweeters to my speakers? to get more high notes by tapping off the door speakers signal with the probably included low-pass filter?? id mount then on my A pillar most likely.
2)i have 2 4ch amps, one being a JL audio of unknown wattage one being an old mtx road thunder 150rms?,..if i were to wire up thise to my speakers/tweeters would i get better audio quality or just louder?
3) my driver side speakers are spotty as best of working.they go on and off at random and i have yet to take em or my stereo out but what might cause that? wire short or something? its the entire driver side not just one..
imma grab a a while n see what u guys say.

HU-jvc kd something?..its an older 09 model with usb/aux input and only 1 set of pre outs,
Speakers-AUDIOPIPE APQ-6803 6x8" 200W 2 Way..i cheaped out on these but the sound quality was decent when all 4 worked
Amps i own-JL Audio XD400/4 i think ..its an older model and a MTX road-thunder 400watt(150rms i think)
the amps are what i either recieved as gifts or aquired and have kept as spares. my subs sound good as is so im not worried there.

For amp. Personally I would use the jl. And replace your speakers. May be headunit with a pioneer double din. Pioneers have a ton of options and outputs.

the speakers were a consideration..i had all 4 blown stock speakers before those but not the funds to afford good ones..now i might be able too what would you recommend? n mines 94 so it uses single din stereos. but ive seen a nice touch screen dble din i want

I don't think the 94 will hold a double din. I would put a pioneer in. Personally pioneer or alpine for headunit. I have an alpine double din in my truck. But pioneer is what I would get if I had to replace it. For speakers I'm running kickers but might change them idk yet. It depends on what your budget is. The 4 channel will really make the speakers come alive and sound better. Mine are hooked up to headunit right now. I'll decide if I wanna change after I put my 4 channel in.

Stop smoking now while you can still breathe.
1) You need better speakers. Is your truck a regular or ext cab ? More tweeters are not going to help in your situation. Think 1 speaker per channel (a component set counts as 1 speaker).
2) Either amp is good, the JL is a tad higher quality and less circuitry noise. Alot of peeps are happy with just the ~10ish watts RMS from the headunit, and it's OK if you use the correct speakers for the application. The right amp/speaker combo will make you smile (as long as the setup, etc. is good). Lots louder, but as far as sound quality goes 'you get out what you put in'. examples of speakers that will work well with the JL amp -

3) Your truck is 20 years old. The stock wiring is old. Either run new 16 gauge wire from headunit to speakers or quality RCA cables from headunit to amp, then 14-16 gauge speaker wire from amp to speakers.
headunits - Not sure what all features you want or need -
