Default 2001 Mazda B3000 Speakers

Hi Guys & Gals,

I apologize for the inconvenience, but I need some help. My father recently purchased a 2001 Mazda B3000 and the rear speakers are missing. I'm wanting to purchase some for my father, but unsure of what the size is and if any speaker can work or if I need to use the wiring clip that's currently there. If anyone could give me some information I would really appreciate it!

PS It's a Christmas present so the sooner I can get some the better. I found this site, but it sheds no light. Hopefully I can post this site. If not I apologize.

5x7/6x8 fits for both doors and the rear. Use the stock wiring as it is probably hooked up already if the head unit is factory.

Ahh so anything off the shelf at the store should work? What about the hook-ups that are currently sitting there? Should i just cut the wire and cap them together?

Cut the connector and connect the wires that you get with the speakers to the existing wires. Any off the shelf will work and will be an upgrade from stock. But if you just wanna listen to the radio then doesn't really matter.

Order some efficient 6x8's from a reputable online store that will include free wiring adaptors. Look for sensitivity specs of 90db or higher and RMS wattage requirements starting with 2-.

Sorry about the slow reply. Do you have any suggestions for online sites? I found a speaker wire harness at uneeksupply.com/2001-Mazda-B3000-Speaker-Wire-Harness-Adapter_p_28463.html but that's all I've found. I can't seem to find a website that offers both the harness and speakers.

You can also use quick splice connectors as well. At that low of a wattage you'd be fine. I would suggest these

Not a bad speaker for only 45 shipped for a pair.

Those JBL speakers are true 2 ohm speakers and might be too low impedance for the stock headunit and cause it to overheat. Also, Amazon doesn't include the speaker wiring harness adaptors. These do -

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236TDX68/MTX-TDX68.html

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TS-G6844R.html

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ce-6832cf.html

The Infinity speakers on the last link would be your best bet. They are not actually 2 ohm, closer to 3 ohm, and will work well with the low power from the stock headunit or an aftermarket. They are also very sensitive, which will allow them to use the low power more efficiently. Crutchfield and Sonic Electronix both include the adaptors you need for free so it will be easy plug & play.

Those infinity speakers you linked to is just a more expensive version of what I posted. Infinity and jbl is the same company.

I know what I am talking about. I have tested both. The Infinity are always right at 2.9-3.2 ohms. The JBL are usually right on 2.2 ohms. ...and I know they are both made by Harmon Kardon.

The factory wires in the head unit will have enough resistance that the ohm difference won't make a difference. In any case the jbl would be a better choice at 2.2 ohms because that'll give more of a gap to account for rise. Rise that wont even make an audible difference. Lol

The factory speaker wires are 18-22 gauge.
