For the main power wire to the amp close to the battery as possible. If you buy a amp kit the wire will already have everything installed where it should be.

It should be in a sealed holder.

Yeah you should move it. My uncle had his fuse where it's supposed to be and it caught fire. No idea how.

Purpose of the fuse is to cut power if there is a short in the protected area (after the fuse).

So if in the instance that the fuse is, lets say, right before the amp and a short were to occur due to an accident or the wire getting cut, this would cause the wire to heat up/spark/catch fire, the whole cable prior to the fuse would be the source of the fire.

I once saw a car that had a burn mark from the battery to the trunk... guess where there fuse was . It's one of those "its not if it will happen, but when it will happen". Best move it for peace of mind.

Yeah it's sealed. Mine is dirty. I never clean under the hood. Hell I don't even wash my truck anymore. My paint is terrible and chipping everywhere so I gave up till I get it painted.
