Battery draining
What would be causing my system to drain the battery while the truck is off... I have 2 amps plugged up but it still shouldnt be running any power when the trucks off.. Anyone care to explain/ help a brotha out...?

Just pull and reinstall fuses till one sparks that should be the one that's is drawing power. Except the dome light one cause of the door being open.

First suspect would be the amps ... those can draw considerable power on standby. Big difference between "shouldn't be" and "aren't" ...
If you've got a voltmeter, you can do a static test on the truck to see how much draw you're talking when it's parked. Disconnect the negative battery cable, set the meter to the 10 amp range, then hook the red lead of the meter to the cable, and the black to the battery terminal. Shouldn't show more than around .01 amps to keep the radio and such primed. Any more, start pulling fuses one by one to narrow things down. You'll need to wait a couple minutes so the tech stuff has a chance to go to sleep before taking a reading.
If the static test looks good, you need to get a load test on the battery. How long does it take to drain, and how old is it?

Its farely old ive had truck for 4500 miles give or take 500 and it looks a tad corroded, think it could just be battery output... Because i ran an altenator test and that was alright @ voltage on battery was 12.6 or 13.1 i cant remember, is that the output..? Im guessin so

Only way to really tell is to have a load test done on it. Head on down to your local auto parts and they can do that for you. Takes a special machine to do it that tests the cranking cycles and power.
If the battery's more than a couple years old, maybe you'll get lucky and that's the problem. At least that's easy to track down and fix ...

No, an audio amp will not draw battery power when they are off. Chances are, you have an aftermarket headunit installed and it is wired incorrectly.

I had the same problem, turned out the battery was just bad. First thing i would do is have it tested.

The yellow power wire from the head is constant power for memory. it goes to the battery. The red power wire from the head is switched power. It goes to an accessory fuse in the fusebox.

That was your voltage when the truck was running? If so, that's too low. Should be closer to 14.4 with the engine running. Corrosion could also be the problem. Clean your terminals and test again. Even if this doesn't solve your problem it needs to be dealt with.

Just tried that static test on mine ('93, 3.0L) and it reads .22A. I had the motor cleaned off last week and apparently something got wet that shouldn't have. Water was condensed under the distr. cap, so she wouldn't start; got that dried out and all has seemed well until yesterday. She sat for 2-3 days, then would not start. Battery read around 12.5V. Took it to parts store; it tested old but good. Put a charger on it yesterday, went to full charge; drove her a few minutes; today battery was low, slow to start, static test read .22A. I guess I'll pull fuses when weather improves.

a bad jem module will cause this type of power drain if your truck has one.

Thanks, I can't tell that the '93 has one, but I pretty well figured out that there is no current leak, the battery is good, and the problem was likely dirty battery connections, which I've cleaned. I'll let her sit a few days and see if the battery has lost any juice, but all cells tested good, so I'm hoping it's problem solved. I was so concerned about problems caused by the cleaning of the engine with chemicals and water, I assumed the starting problem was a direct result.
