Got new to me subs yesterday they are 15" kicker comp vr's, the problem I'm having is whenever I turn the radio up where they start hitting hard I get this loud metal rattling sound, my dad thinks it coming from one of the subs but there's nothing that moves that much in the subs that's metal or hard. Any body have any insite on my problem

Sound toast.

Your sure the sound is coming from the subs?

if it is coming from the subs sounds like one blew

but make sure there isnt anything loose around the box first

could be the amp rattling too. Mine does sometimes depending on the song/sound level

No I'm not sure my dad put that idea in my head I thought I was just somthing rattling because it only happends when you turn it up to about 85% of the way

my 12" CVR rattled the adapters on my back speakers when I turned it up about that much. Your going to hear rattling know matter what you do with a 15, just confirm it's not the box itself and your good.

Yea I understand that it's going to rattle regardless but this sounds like 2 big-ish prices of metal rattling against each other and I thought it was the back wall flexing really hard

Would part of the problem be the dumb ass that wired it had it completely wrong?

If it's a dual voice coil maybe...or they wired a 2 channel amp to a single coil wrong

Yes they are dual, and I didn't get the amp that was on them I used the amp I had which is a mono 500.

Fixed the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only was it wired wrong on both subs but the rattling problem was coming from one of the panels separating from another, so glad I got it fixed sounds 10x better
