draining power steering

I know there is an old thread on this but my question is this; Which line is the return line on the steering rack? (modelageek mentioned this on the old thread) Can I just take loose this line and let the old fluid drain out and then refill? It needs changed because the fluid smells burnt and looks brown like old transmission fluid and the steering groans when turned at low speed when it is hot.
