is this just a rumor or the truth that rangers go through tires faster than most other vehicles??

i think the older style suspension did. before t-bars brain fart right now. well it was said that the out side of the tire would wear faster then the inside part of the tire. but that too was a rumor also. so... ??

i had almost 70k on a set of tires ( closer to 65k) but still had some tread left

The older twin I-beam suspension did have a tendency to wear out the front tires a little quicker than SLA style suspensions, but that was all Ford trucks, not just the Ranger.

The only reason I go through tires so quickly on my truck is all the tire spinning!

I've only heard the exact opposite, Rangers are lighter than most trucks and thus the tires last longer.

My 02 Edge still has the same 33MTR's since 2002. They are at about 50%.

yea the TIB suspension cups the tires, ive noticed it on my tires and they have less than 4k on em

The reason that the older trucks wore through tires is because the springs would sag in the front causing the tops to tip inward and wear just the inside corner. If you got new springs or eccentric cams to bring the camber back to factory spec.

And Smakes, I would get an alignment done if I were you. I doubt your getting cupping because of the TIB. Most of the time, cupping is caused by incorrect toe settings.

^^^ alot of times it's the bushings on the I-beams and strut bars that give the cupping. I've dealt with it on a few Fords, including f-350s, and the bushings only last about a year before they start to have enough give to allow a little tire cupping. The cupping won't be too bad untill the bushings are shot, but it'll be there.
