i have a 2001 ranger 2.5l automatic trans

i want to and will eventually do a 4.6l v8 swap

my mother in law just bought a new lincoln mkx and has a 2003 mercury gran marquis ultimate edition that i can practically have

should i go for this motor/trans?

what rear is on that car and can i use it cause it has the disc brakes i want

what are the specs on that motor other than it being the modular 4.6l (hp cam setup number of valves etc...)

can it be easily upgraded or am i better off looking for a different motor?

thanks in advance

look for a 5.0 mang

4.6's are a big mother trucker.

dont do the 4.6 WIDE SOB!

as for the rear, you can use either a mustang 8.8 or an expo rear end.

I think that in 02 the 5.4 went to a 3 valve, not sure if the 4.6 followed that or not

4.6L is a 60 degree V8 compared to a 5.0L which is a 90 degree V8. There is going to be alot of modifing to get it to fit. But the 5.0L has alot more opportunity for making it louder, faster, and more unique.

Would love to see it done by an average Joe but it's alottttttttt of money to do it, just go with the 5.0

I will admit I was wrong
The motor just wont work with my skill level and I cant afford having someone do it for me

I guess ill do a 5.0 and be done with it

sorry peoples for the disturbance
