I want to get the biggest tire i can handle without a lift job on my 15in rims. The truck is a 1999 Ford Ranger 4WD with side step and fender flares.

Well go to a tire shop and they can measure you wheels and tell you how big of tires you can put on it before having to put lifts on it. So go ask a salesman and he can tell you.

Why buy tires? It's a FORD. It's just gonna break down anyways. : )

I have a Ford Ranger 03 double cab and have fitted stock wheels with 265/70/15 and have no problems at all. I am sure I could go to a larger tyre but am looking for bigger rims. If you now the maximum overall diameter (I don't YET) you Ranger will take look here http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-calculator (http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-calculator)this you can play with to find your tyre and rim size.

I live in Englang ! asking a "salesman" a question about tyre sizes and wheels is like asking an eskimo for a pair of swiming trunks.
Been there tried it and have given up.

We use metric in canada too, but for the trucks' 15" tires, they usually stop at 235/75/15 (29" i think?), then go to 31 32 33" and so on.

The 265s you can get in the 16-17" diameter wheels.

btw nice replies, you sure showed those 2008 guests.
