I have a intermitent problem on my 88 2.9 ranger. Its been weeks sence it did it last but did it again the other day. While driving the motor wil just stop running for just a second and right back on. I was thinking the ignition coil could be on it's way out. It does look like the original to the truck.
Any thoughts?

It will do it at any speed it seems. Just like you turned the igintion off. Just does it for a second and right back on. May not do it for weeks.

That has happened to be before - I jiggled every wire under the hood I could find while it was running until it died. Ended up being a bad coil plug in my case. Would also cut out when hood was shut.

Just you love these little problems that only show up every once and awhile. Stock coils are 20 bucks so I think I will go with that, I have had a intermitent one on the wifes Escort once.
I did try the move and shake wires but nothing.
