I have a 2004 6 cyl.. My a/c did not work since after winter...The a/c clutch seems to kick on and off for a second or so weather the ac is on or not..Dosnt seem to stay on long enough for the compresser work.. Could it be the a/c cluch solonoid relay in the main fuse box under the hood?? I tried to get one today at a couple auto stores, no one had one..Is it a dealer item? Thanks,

The a/c clutch will cycle when its in the max, a/c, floor/defrost and defrost positions. It may have low refrigerant level or a bad low pressure side switch or hi pressure side switch switch which protect the compressor. Have someone check the refrigerant level first.

I agree with LittleBlue, - my '04 was doing exactly the same thing due to a low charge. R134 is composed of some pretty tiny molecules and will exploit any excuse to bleed out. Run your A/C once in awhile in the winter to keep it lubed up internally & it should help.
