I have a stock radio and want to put in a stock ford radio with mp3 for my iPod the only one's I can find are the 6 cd changer ones. If I rip out my radio and put in the mp3 with 6 cd changer will it fit correctly and wire up easily?

by mp3 you mean AUX input right?

I'm confused too. Do you mean AUX input or do you mean it reads MP3 CD's?

The installation is a one time thing, but you'll constantly be using your radio so I wouldn't limit yourself to a stock stereo because of that one reason alone.

If you just like the stock look consider checking out something like this: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/audio-video/5813-cheap-clean-double-din-installed.html

See I like the stock look and I dont use my stereo that much other than 4 presets and I want to be able to plug in an AUX so I can use my iPod. I dont use CD's that much I can find the 6 Cd changer and Mp3 stereo on ebay cheap but I just dont know if it will fit all the wires and be able to just fit directly into my dash or not. I dont have a problem controlling my iPod though my iPod its self

if the ones on ebay you are referring to say 6 disc mp3 that does not mean they are AUX/ipod compatible it just means they play mp3 cd's.

Why not modify the stock radio already in your truck to handle auxiliary

the only way this is possible is with an FM modulator. Do you have a trick up your sleeve we dont know about???

There is a way to bypass but still use the cd player to do it
I did it and it works

Let me see take the radio out so you can open it up. Take the radio apart
till you get to where the CD player connects to the radios main circuit board. On the CD player side of the connection look on the circuit board and you should r.out and l.out or something similar you can tie in a auxiliary jack by soldering a wire to each of these posts or to where they connect on the main board (I found the main board to be easier). Then go to radio shack or somewhere and get the aux port wire it to your wires. Go download a silent CD and burn it. put this CD in your CD slot and hook up your i pod to the aux port and your radio will think it is playing a cd while your ipod is putting out the signal the radio plays.
Sorry if this confusing working on a how-to-post that i will include pics and more description in.

It isn't all that hard I did it in about 20 minutes and it is basically free where a modulator costs 50 to 100 dollars or something like that

Anyway here is the how-to
