Hey all i'm planning on sasing my 96 ranger here in a bit but I wanna buy all the parts first then just go at it and have it done in about 3 days onece all the parts are in
my plans 1ton GM steering
D30 from cherokee
custom 4link
gm brake lines or stainless

My question is What springs do I use for this right now I have about a 6" or so lift on my ranger and I want to stay around there an inch or higher I wouldnt mind but definitely not lower its not used as a hrd core wheeler just play around on the weekends

i've heard the jeep xj cherokee 6.5" lift coils would work pretty well just any advice would be great and I dont want people telling me put D44 or 60's in not the D30 its not what i'm asking thank you

Well 14 bolts front and rear of course.

As for coils it will depend which way you go with coil buckets. For a sockish height ranger coil bucket and around 6 of lift anything from a 4.5-6.5" coil is required depnding on engine and accy's.

I run a bds 3" zj coil with a jks acos setup on top of it to give right around 4-4.5" of lift that clears my 38.5's and will clear 42's.

So a 6.5" coil will net me about 6" of lift I was thinking 8" just to get that extra bit

Thats way to much lift imo, but Idkjust clearing 38.5's with room for 42's...

So 6.5" coils will work I think if that nets me 7 over stock I would be happy even 8 as right now my 35's are too stuffed

I have 4.5-5" over stock cut the fenders or something. Way better to have a low cog than bgtl.

I have 6" skyjacker and it sits pretty well so I want it about the same but not lower I just don't wanna cut fenders as the truck is in decent condition I would hate to cut it

That has nothing to do with it. Mine was in perfect shape the opening just aren't big enough.

Did you use anything custom flares or just cut and leave the flares off

Just cut them out. I bash it onto rocks and lack flare laws in this state. I have been thinking about prerunner flares but am afraid in would destroy the fiberglass.

That was one reason I decided against prerunner ones as they would break
