sometimes a code will set for a MAF, not always though. but yes, most of the time it will set a code. have you done a vacuum test yet, or are you assuming?

as for the p code (aka DTC) those are for telling you what the problem is, not what the cause of the problem generally. at least that has been my experience, cuz there is many times a blown fuse, bad connection, or sometimes the sensor is actually bad.
